Larvae - 3rd Instar

Larvae of maybe the 3rd instar of the Silvery Doa Moth feeding on Stillingia texana, Queen's Delight in the Euphorbiaceae. Location is in NE Medina County, TX.

Note the development of enlarged black and white areas on the thoracic and anal segments. Although some are venturing out, most of the group are still in the original web on the terminal end of a shoot - visible seed pods and leaves of other shoots are as yet undisturbed.
